Lamplight Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Studio Lightchild LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Lamplight mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to handling your personal data securely and transparently, in compliance with applicable privacy laws and the requirements of the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Lamplight is designed as a local-first app. Your notes and study data are stored on your device. This policy is separate from the Studio Lightchild website privacy policy and from other Studio Lightchild apps.
2. Information We Collect
Information stored on your device
When you use the App, the following may be stored locally on your device:
- Notes and series: text you write, organization structure, and related metadata
- Highlights and verse references: scripture references and highlights associated with your notes
- Preferences and settings: options you configure in the App
- Cached Bible translations: scripture text from licensed translations (including BSB, WEB, NLT, and KJV) downloaded for offline use
Information we do not collect
At this time, Lamplight does not require an account, does not sync your notes to our servers, and does not use analytics products. We do not sell your personal information to advertising networks or data brokers.
3. How We Use Information
Data stored by the App is used on your device to provide Lamplight’s features, including note-taking, scripture insertion, highlighting, series organization, and offline reading. We do not use your notes for advertising or sell them to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
Bible translations. Scripture text displayed in the App is provided by third-party licensors and may be cached locally on your device subject to their respective licenses. Attribution and license details are available within the App.
We do not share your notes with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. Planned Optional Backups (Future)
We plan to offer an optional feature that lets you link your own cloud storage, such as Google Drive or Apple iCloud, to back up your notes. If and when this feature ships:
- Backup will be optional and controlled by you
- Data will be stored in storage you authorize, not used by us for advertising
- This policy will be updated with specifics before or when the feature becomes available
Until then, your notes remain on your device unless you export or share them yourself.
6. Your Choices and Data Deletion
You have control over your information:
- On-device data: edit or delete notes and series within the App
- Uninstall: removing the App typically deletes locally stored App data from your device, subject to your operating system’s behavior

7. Data Retention
Because Lamplight is local-first, we do not retain your notes on our servers. Data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App (or, in the future, until you manage backups in storage you control).
8. Security
We implement reasonable measures appropriate to a local-first app. Protecting access to your device (passcode, biometrics, OS updates) is an important part of keeping your notes secure. No method of storage is completely secure.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@studiolightchild.com.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
