Lamplight Terms of Service
1. Agreement to Terms
Welcome to Lamplight. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Lamplight mobile application (the "App"), operated by Studio Lightchild LLC, a limited liability company in the United States ("we," "us," or "our").
By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the App.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the App. If you are under 18, you represent that you have permission from a parent or guardian to use the App.
At this time, Lamplight does not require an account. Features are provided on your device on a local-first basis.
3. Your Content and Local Data
You retain ownership of the notes, highlights, and other content you create in the App ("Your Content"). Your Content is stored on your device. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of Your Content.
You agree not to use the App to store or create content that is unlawful or that infringes any third party’s rights.
4. Updates and Availability
We may update the App, modify features, or perform maintenance at any time. We reserve the right to require you to install the latest version of the App to continue using certain features. The App is provided on an "as available" basis and we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
5. Intellectual Property
Our content
The App, including its design, branding, user interface, and underlying software, is owned by Studio Lightchild LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the App without our written permission.
Your content
You retain ownership of Your Content. We do not claim ownership of your notes or study materials.
Bible translations
Scripture text displayed in the App is provided by third-party licensors (including Berean Standard Bible, World English Bible, New Living Translation, and King James Version) and is subject to their respective licenses. Attribution and license details are available within the App.
6. Optional Cloud Backup (Future)
We may introduce an optional feature allowing you to back up Your Content to cloud storage you control (such as Google Drive or Apple iCloud). Use of any such feature will be subject to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and the terms of the storage provider you choose. Backup will remain optional.
7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Lamplight is a study and note-taking tool. It does not provide medical, legal, financial, pastoral, or professional counseling advice. Scripture display and study features are provided for personal use subject to applicable translation licenses.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Studio Lightchild LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising from your use of the App or reliance on any content within it, including loss of notes stored on your device.
8. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or discontinue the App or specific features at any time.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you should stop using the App and uninstall it.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Studio Lightchild LLC is registered, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
